It's located in a strip mall just off 83. That's not necessarily a departure from any other sushi place granted but pretty much everything I've had tastes great and is of good quality.Westmont is a stones through from Oak Brook in a super nice suburb southwest of the city. This is one of my standby sushi places when I'm in Chicago.I like it because they have a pretty exhaustive menu of sushi rolls as well as a regular menu. Illinois, United States Food Guide: 8 Steakhouse food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Westmontģrd or 4th time here. Overall, the menu was unfocused and trying to be too many things-and the food suffered for it.Not recommended: overpriced menu, bad service, mediocre food, odd atmosphere. A noodle dish was bland I normally love mushrooms, and these were bland and did not have any earthy flavor. The sushi rolls were fresh enough but, in one case, bland and, in the other case, so doctored-up with stuff that the fish's flavor was lost. The price point here is not that low, so such bad service was a disappointment. The food was average. He even seemed irritated when we asked about the special. The service was awful-our server was aloof, seemed bothered by really basic questions about the menu, and was clearly just going through the motions. The decor is terrible-it's a weird form of modern and neither inviting nor comfortable. It was busy on a Saturday night with people from the neighborhood. That's where the good stuff stops. We went to Nabuki at their recommendation. On the plus side, it's in a walkable suburban area that isn't full of chains, etc., and it had a local feel about it. We live in Chicago and were meeting some friends who live in the suburbs, near where Nabuki is located.
